My Goals and Objectives for Pacifica My goal is progress. My objectives are to:
Build upon the improvements in place along Palmetto.
Push for specific planning for both the Sharp Park Area and Quarry site.
Budget for ongoing city expenses with ongoing revenue; not with one-time EFAF or other funds.
Continue to build relationships with state and Federal legislators and San Mateo County.
Maintain Pacifica's quality of life while recognizing the Bay Area is going through dramatic changes that we need to plan for.
Address Pacifica's issues with the implementation of reasonable, long-term plans and not with short-term ideologies.
Build a political consensus locally and with other agencies to oppose managed retreat.
Promote honest, transparent government.
I led or supported the following initiatives at the Pacifica School District:
Pushed for leasing vacant buildings, which currently bring in over $150,000 to the district annually.
Initiated leasing the vacant yard behind Linda Mar School to create the 4H Farm, which eventually led to a lease with the Pacifica Gardens Project. Increasing community use of School District Facilities.
Helped found the Laguna Salada Asset Management Foundation, and served as its first President, later succeeded by the Pacifica Education Foundation.
Supported development of the growing Home School to provide additional revenue to the Pacifica School District.
Led the initiative to consider alternative uses for the Oddstad School site, including the possibility of developing a multi-use sports complex.
Founded a current initiative to use school sites as locations for film shoots, generating $15,000 of additional revenue. Film contracts also included a local business, Terra Nova, Oceana and a city park, creating income for these members of the community.
